Abstract
An analysis was conducted, of the results of a comprehensive study (ultrasound + cytology) in 342 patients with thyroid nodules measuring up to 1 cm. Data of pathomorphology, cytology and ultrasound findings were compared; accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of ultrasound and FNAB under USI control in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules less than 1 cm, including microcarcinomas, were evaluated. Errors of cytology and ultrasound diagnosis of thyroid microcarcinomas were identified.
