Autoimmune thyroiditis. Modern views on the pathogenesis and treatment (literature review)

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the analysis and systematization of the latest scientific data on the problem of etiology and pathogenesis of autoimmune thyroiditis. Much  attention is paid to the role of autoimmune thyroiditis in the structure of endocrine diseases, to the major factors defining its occurrence and pro gression, to the  influence of environmental factors and genetic risk determination. Modern conceptions on im munological mechanisms triggering pathological process in au toimmune  thyroiditis, and the role of apoptosis was described as well. Presents modern views on the treatment of patients with autoimmune thyroiditis.
