Abstract
The thyroid status of patients after thyroid surgery considering the surgery tactics, improved technology with electric welding of biological tissues (EWBT) was analyzed. Materials and methods. 212 patients exposed to thyroid surgery by medical indications were observed. Patients were divided into the main group (96 patients) with EWBT use and a comparison group (116 patients) without EWBT use. Also patients were distributed by the volume of operations and preoperative thyroid condition. Thyroid stimulating hormone, free thyroxine, free triiodothyronine were determined before surgery, in 2 months after and in a 1 year after surgery. Results: The dependence of postoperative thyroid condition on the volume of operations, the quality of hormone replacement therapy in the postoperative period, and the independence of that on significantly improved surgical technology with EWBT use were proved.
