Abstract

The results of the changes of lipid and lipoprotein metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes types with different clinical course of CHD are presented. We found that in patients with type 2 diabetes, characterized by more severe coronary artery disease with prior history of acute cardiovascular events and cardiovascular deaths showed the most pronounced changes in atherogenic lipid and lipoprotein metabolism. The identified changes may be factors contributing to the progression of coronary artery disease in patients with DM type 2.
