Abstract

The aim of the study was to study the functional state of intracardiac hemodynamics in young patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D), and to evaluate the expediency and efficiency of L-arginine use to correct the revealed disorders. Materials and methods. Assessment of systolic and diastolic functions of the left ventricle (LV) was performed in 70 patients with T1D and in 30 controls of the same age. The study was carried out in a duplex mode. Traditional therapy was supplemented with L-arginine (4.2% solution of Tivortin, Yuriya-Pharm, Ukraine). The course of treatment consisted of 10 days. Then the drug was administered in the form of a drinking solution for 1 month. Results. The data obtained testify to the positive effect of L-arginine on the functional state of intracardiac hemodynamics in patients with T1D of young age.
