Abstract

The lesson presents literature and personal data demonstrating the potential and achievement of a minimally invasive and safe methods of cytological diagnosis of malignant tumors of various localizations (breast tumors, lymphomas, thyroid carcinomas) in preoperative prediction of their behavior and the choice of adequate tangent therapy based on the use of immunocytochemical studies on the material of fine needle aspiration biopsies. We have developed our own methods for preoperative prediction of radioiodine resistance of papillary thyroid cancers, which allow to accurately predict the effectiveness of radioiodine therapy of papillary thyroid cancer and metastases detected in the postoperative period, and provide an opportunity to determine adequate treatment tactics (radioiodine therapy or surgical removal of metastases in cases of prediction of ineffective radioiodine therapy).
