Abstract
The aim was a comparative analysis of using basal levels of C-peptide and DiaRem scale for predicting complete remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients with morbid obesity after the laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery. Material and methods. The study included 46 patients with morbid obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus, who underwent laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery by the method Fobi-Capella Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass. Results. There was no statistically significant difference between the methods of predicting complete remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus, according to the basal levels of C-peptide and the DiaRem scale. Conclusion. The expediency of combined using the analysis of basal levels of C-peptide and scale DiaRem in patients with morbid obesity after the laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery, which significantly increases the efficiency of predicting complete remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
