Abstract

The authors discuss the current European trends in performance of prophylactic central neck dissection in papillary thyroid cancer, determine the indications for and  anatomical features of the operation, share their clinical experience of preventive central neck dissection performed to 221 patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma .
